Primidi
The twelve months of the republican calendar of the French Revolution are divided into three “decades” of ten days. Primidi is the first day of a decade. The 1st, 11th and 21st of each month and the Fête de la vertu of the Sansculottids fall on a Primidi.
Day names
The day names of the Primidi should (like most other day names) be agricultural crops. Only in the Nivôse should the days be named after minerals and substances of animal origin. The National Assembly deviated in part from this original Fabre d'Églantine concept .
