Odaïr Junior Lopes Fortes (born March 31, 1987 in Praia ) is a Cape Verdean football player .

Athletic career

Fortes lived in his home country until 2004. Then he went to his uncle in Vitry-sur-Seine , where he trained as a painter. At the same time, he joined UJA Alfortville , who played in the lower-class amateur area . There he was part of the upswing that brought the club from the sixth division to the edge of professional football. After the promotion to the Championnat de France Amateur 2008, he had attracted high class attention and left the club.

Fortes switched to French professional football and joined Stade Reims in Ligue 2 . In the first two games still in the starting line-up, he then lost his regular place and was only a supplementary player for long periods of the season. Despite a coach change - the multiple national player Luis Fernández took over from January 2009 - the season was unsuccessful, and the team was relegated to the third class national . Under coach Hubert Fournier , who was officially responsible for Marc Collat during his coaching training in the 2009/10 season , Fortes advanced to become a regular midfield player in the third division. With seven goals this season, he made a decisive contribution to the club's direct return to the second division. At the same time, he played his way into the Cape Verdean national team , for which he made his debut in 2010.
