Odro
Odro is an alpine and rustici settlement above Vogorno in the Ticino Verzasca Valley in Switzerland .
geography
Odro is a fraction of the municipality of Vogorno. The marked hiking trail from Vogorno to Odro passes Alp Stavello about halfway. The forest between Stavello and Odro is characterized by birch trees. Odro offers a very nice view of the surrounding Ticino mountains and part of Lake Maggiore and Lake Vogorno .
economy
Black Verzasca goats are still summered on Odro . Goat's cheese is made from goat's milk, which is sold as a specialty throughout Switzerland and in neighboring countries.
Attractions
- In Odro there is a museum dedicated to wild haymaking . Odro is at an altitude of 1200 to 1300 m. ü. M. and can only be reached via steep forest paths.
- Some of the Rustici on Alp Odro have been expanded into holiday camps that are rented out centrally and operated as hotels.
- Two shell stones in the Ticc Zot district (1240 m above sea level)
Others
In June 2008, the first German television station, ARD, broadcast morning reports from Odro about the German national football team, which was based in nearby Ascona and trained in Tenero .
