Odysseus Velanas (born June 5, 1998 in Samos , Greece ) is a Dutch football player of Greek origin.

Career

Velanas had started playing football in Zeist in the province of Utrecht with VV Jonathan before he moved to the youth academy of FC Utrecht ( FC Utrecht Academie ). From August 2016 he played for the reserve team Jong FC Utrecht in the second division and made his debut for the first team in the Eredivisie a year later . He played two games for the pros in the 2017/18 season and otherwise played for Jong FC Utrecht. After he had not played for the professional team in the first half of the 2018/19 season , he was awarded to the second division Helmond Sport at the end of January 2019 . Velanas suffered a thigh injury in his fourth league game on February 22, 2019 and was absent until matchday 26. By the end of the season he came to a total of six missions. In the summer of 2019, Velanas returned to FC Utrecht.

National team

Odysseus Velanas played once for the Dutch U17 national team in 2015 and for the Dutch U18 and U19 from 2015 to 2017 .
