Oemar Seno Adji
Oemar Seno Adji (born December 5, 1915 in Surakarta , Jawa Tengah , Dutch East Indies ; † 1984 ) was an Indonesian lawyer and politician who was Minister of Justice between 1966 and 1973 and President of the Supreme Court from 1974 to 1981.
Life
Oemar Seno Adji graduated after attending the elementary school and middle school AMS (Algemene Middelbare School) in solo studies at the Dutch-Indian Law College (Rechtshogeschool) in Jakarta and was then from 1942 to 1950 employees of the Ministry of Justice. During this time he also graduated in 1949 from the law faculty of the newly founded Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta . After working as a public prosecutor from 1950 to 1950, he took over a professorship at the Law Faculty of the University of Indonesia in 1959 and was also Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Indonesia between 1966 and 1968.
On July 25, 1966, Oemar Seno Adji became Minister of Justice and Law (Menteri Kehakiman dan Hukum) . He then served from October 17, 1967 to March 28, 1973 as Minister of Justice (Menteri Kehakiman) in the first presidential governments of President Suharto .
As the successor to R. Soebekti , he took over the post of President of the Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung Republic of Indonesia) on January 22, 1974 and remained in this position until February 18, 1981, whereupon the previous Minister of Justice Mudjono succeeded him. Most recently he was rector of the Universitas Krisnadwipayana from 1981 until his death on December 5, 1984 .
His son is the lawyer Indriyanto Seno Adji, who, among other things, was Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission in 2015.
