Ogden Mills & Ruth Livingston Mills State Park (also: Mills Memorial State Park ) is a state park in the municipality of Staatsburg in Dutchess County , New York . The park covers an area of ​​750 acres (3 km²) and extends along US Route 9 , between Rhinebeck in the north and the city of Hyde Park in the south. The park is bounded to the west by the Hudson River and the average altitude is 39 ft ( 12  m ).

The park is part of the Mills-Norrie State Park together with Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park , with a total area of ​​4 km².

Main attractions are the Staatsburgh State Historic Site and Dinsmore Golf Course . Staatsburgh State Historic Site is a Beaux Arts country house designed by architects McKim, Mead, and White . The house was built in the Gilded Age from 1895 to 1896 and has 65 rooms, 14 bathrooms and 23 fireplaces. The furnished house is open to visitors, as well as for events and celebrations. In the park there are also hiking trails, log cabins, campsites, as well as opportunities for fishing, picnicking and relaxing, and in winter cross-country skiing and sledding. There is also a restaurant.

The Dinsmore Golf Course is the third-oldest golf course in the United States reported, according to the records of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation . It was planned by Hal Purdy in the 1890s and originally only had nine holes. However, it was expanded to 18 holes in 1962.

The golf course has recently been open to the public. Par is 70. The Dinsmore Golf Course has beautiful views over the Hudson River and up to the Catskill Mountains .
