Ognjen Matic (born August 21, 1989 in Split ) is an Australian handball player of Yugoslav origin.

Matic came to Australia with his parents in 1997. There he played handball at Cabramatta High School. In 2006 he was appointed to the U18 New South Wales selection. In 2008 the 1.97 meter tall back player made his debut for the Australian national team , with whom he participated in the 2009 World Cup in Croatia , 2011 in Sweden and 2013 in Spain .

In 2012 Matic was with his club, the Sydney Uni Handball Club, New South Wales Champion, won the Oceanic Club Championship and then took part in the Super Globe , the world championship for club teams in Doha .

In the summer of 2013 Ognjen Matic came to Germany, where he plays for the national division HSG EGB Bielefeld.
