Oh Brother, My Brother is an American short film from 1979 by the married couple Carol and Ross Lowell , which shows the everyday life of their two sons Josh and Evan. Ross Lowell was also responsible for the script and cinematography for the film.

At the 1980 Academy Awards , the film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film (Live Action) category.

The film shows the everyday life of the Lowell family, with the love and affection of the two sons in focus. Conflicts between the siblings are shown; the quick change from happy moments to worries, from playing together to tears and arguments.

The film goes back to a suggestion by Carol Lowell. She told her husband that she regretted that although Ross Lowell was a cameraman, there were no films made by her own 6 and 2 year old sons. Both decided not to produce a half-hearted home video, but a real film.

Oh Brother, My Brother was shot on 16mm film . The film was made over several months, with about three months working on the planning, three months on the shooting and three months on the editing of the film.
