Ohannes Tapyuli
Ohannes Tapyuli (born March 15, 1944 in Kangal ) is a German artist of Armenian origin.
Life
Ohannes Tapyuli was born in Kangal, Turkey, in 1944 and attended an Armenian monastery boarding school in Istanbul from 1952 to 1963 . After graduating from high school, he began studying art history at Istanbul University. In 1966 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany and studied painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Then he took up a teaching position at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig . After several years in Spain, he was a student at Villa Massimo in 1984 and 1985 . He then returned to Braunschweig, where he still lives and is married to his daughter Elmar Michels . The couple have two daughters.
As a full member of the German Association of Artists , Ohannes Tapyuli took part in ten major annual DKB exhibitions between 1973 and 1985.
