Ohrpeyn is a band made up of four Leipzig musicians who use medieval instruments such as bagpipes , shawms and drums to bring historical sounds back to life. Ohrpeyn often plays at medieval and castle festivals.
history
The band was founded in 2000 by "Rüdiger dem Rotbart" and "Norbertus der Eule". In 2001 the first real appearance at Schloss Burg followed with the newly added musicians "Violentia die Zartbesaitete" and "Nicolotorus the Hell Bard". "Norbertus the Owl" left the band before. In 2002 "the silent Spaniard" joined the band. At the beginning of 2005 (until the end of 2006) "Norbertus the Owl" returned, in summer 2005 "Runarh von Donnerdrummel" followed. From the beginning of 2007 to the end of 2010, "Stephanus the Powerful" joined the band as a replacement for Norbertus. In the summer of 2007 "Runarh von Donnerdrummel" left the band and "Norbertus the Owl" returned to the band several times to replace him. In 2007 the company also made its first appearances abroad. In summer 2011 "Martin das Luder" replaced the previous drummer "Norbertus the owl" on the drums. At the end of the 2015 season, Nicolotrus and Martin left the band. The black abbot and Balthasar from the Orient joined the band as new members.
