Oiagros
Oiagros ( Greek Οἴαγρος , the lone hunter ) is king of Pieria in northern Greece in Greek mythology . The source nymph Methone, eponymous for the Thracian city Methone , and Pieros, the eponymous king of Pieria, are named as parents .
He is considered the father of Orpheus , whom the muse Calliope gave birth to. As the father of Orpheus, Apollo is often called in competition, which is to be understood more allegorically .
Another son of Calliope is that of Heracles killed Linos .
