Okoa is an island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu .
geography
Okoa is located south of the main island Vavaʻu and is almost immediately adjacent. It is connected to the neighboring town of ʻOkoa by a bridge and part of the settlement also extends to the northern part of the otherwise densely forested island. In the surrounding “fjords” are Tueʻia , Nuku and Kiato along with other tiny motu . The next larger islands are Tulie Island (N), Koloa ( NE ) and ʻOloʻua (S). To the east, Faioa forms the outermost reef edge of the archipelago.
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vava'u group, Okoa is occasionally hit by cyclones .
