Oktoberfest Windhoek

The Oktoberfest Windhoek (also Oktoberfest Namibia ) is one of the largest folk festivals in Namibia .

history

The Oktoberfest Windhoek has been organized by Sport Klub Windhoek and the Namibian brewery Namibia Breweries since 1958 . A special festival beer is brewed every year.

The festival takes place on the grounds of the SK Windhoek and counts up to 5000 visitors over two days. In addition to traditional Oktoberfest customs such as tapping the keg and poking beer mugs, the Hacker festival tent band Die Kirchdorfer has also been an integral part of the program since 2011 .

At the Oktoberfest 2014, around 4,500 visitors drank more than 10,500 liters of beer.

For the first time, Oktoberfest Windhoek 2015 took place on a weekend in Cape Town in South Africa .
