Olívio Jekupé

Olívio Jekupé (born October 10, 1965 in Novo Itacolumy , Paraná state ) is one of the most important representatives of the indigenous literature of Brazil .

Life

Olívio Jekupé is a Brazilian writer of indigenous origin. From 1988 to 1992 he studied philosophy at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC) in Curitiba and later at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in São Paulo. He is president of the Associação Guarani Nhe'e Porã and works for several organizations that deal with the education of the indigenous people. He has published a number of books himself. He also sponsors other indigenous writers. His works of children's and youth literature deal, among other things, with the life of the indigenous peoples in today's Brazilian society.
