Oldenburger Schützenbund

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oldenburger Schützenbund eV (OSB), as a district association, is the umbrella organization of 185 shooting clubs in 16 districts and has around 24,000 members. This makes it the district with the largest number of members out of eleven districts in the Northwest German Rifle Federation (NWDSB). The distribution area of the OSB is congruent with the Oldenburger Land or the former administrative district of Oldenburg. However, the boundaries of the 16 rifle districts do not match the political boundaries of the districts. There are four shooting groups in Ammerland alone .

history

The association was founded on August 19, 1862. It was brought into being by Colonel Lehmann, who one year after the founding of the “ General German Shooting Federation ” in Gotha with the shooting clubs Jever , Varel , Oldenburg , Brake , Vechta , Westerstede and Landwürden founded the first umbrella organization in the Duchy of Oldenburg. A first Oldenburg federal shooting could already be carried out on July 26th and 27th, 1863 in Varel.
