Masauna Ole Dorph (* 1955 in Ilulissat ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ) and police officer .

Life

Ole Dorph was trained as a police officer in Copenhagen and Nuuk until 1977 , when he worked until 2003, where he was also chairman of the Greenland Police Association.

In 1989 he was elected to the Ilulissat Municipality Council for the first time , after he had already run as a second deputy in the 1987 parliamentary elections. He was appointed mayor in 1991 and re-elected in 1997. In 2001 he was appointed Minister for Social Affairs, Labor Market and Equality in Naalakkersuisut . In the election for Inatsisartut in 2002, he was elected to parliament for one legislative period. In 2003 he became vice chairman of Air Alpha Greenland , where he had been a member of the board of directors since 1997 before it was acquired by Air Greenland in 2006 . From 2007 to 2008 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Greenland's Tourism and Acquisitions Board. From 2007 to 2010 he was also director of the Disko Line . After serving on the board of directors from 2008 to 2010, he was also chairman of the board at Rodebay Fish from 2010 to 2013. In 2011 he became chairman of the seafaring school in Paamiut and a member of the board of directors of Sermitsiaq . Since 2012 he has been chairman of Halibut Greenland. In 2013, he gave up all his posts after being elected mayor of Qaasuitsup Kommunia . At the same time he also became a member of KANUKOKA . The municipality was dissolved in 2017.

Ole Dorph and his wife Helene have three grown children.
