Oleksandr Horschkow ( Ukrainian Олександр Горшков , Eng. Transcription Oleksandr Horshkov , Russian Александр Викторович Горшков - Alexandr Viktorovich Gorshkov - Aleksandr Gorshkov * 8. February 1970 in Kirovsk , Luhansk Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former professional footballer . The midfielder is a former national player for both Russia and Ukraine.

Horschkow began his career in the second Soviet division in 1989 at SKA Tashkent , before he went back to his native Ukraine in 1990 for the also second-rate SKA Kiev . With the end of the Soviet league in 1992, the Ukrainian team Nywa Vinnyzja took him under contract, but failed in the qualifying round for Wyschtscha Liha , but after a year of second division in 1993, the promotion succeeded. In 1994 he moved to league rivals Chornomorez Odessa , with whom he was able to become runner-up twice in a row and was first used internationally in the 1994 Cup Winners' Cup .

In 1996 Horschkow moved to the highest Russian league to Schemchuschina Sochi . Through his performances there, the Russian national coach Ignatjew noticed him, who in 1997 appointed him for the first time in the squad of the Russian selection and in 1998 finally used in two friendly matches. These remain his only missions for Russia.

In 1997 he moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg within the Russian league , went to Saturn Ramenskoye for two years in 2002 , before going back to the Neva in 2004 . In 2004 he was also appointed to the squad of the Ukrainian national team, for which he played four games in the qualifying round for Euro 2004 and scored two goals.

However, he celebrated his greatest successes towards the end of his career with Zenit: at the age of 37, he became Russian champions in 2007 and at the age of 38 he won the 2007/08 UEFA Cup . At the end of 2008 Horschkow ended his active career.
