Olive was a dance / breakbeat / trip-hop formation from northern England that was active in the late 1990s. The founding members were Tim Kellett (producer, instrumentalist and songwriter, formerly with Simply Red ), Robin Taylor-Firth (producer, keyboards, sequencing) and Ruth-Ann Boyle (vocals). The band released two albums, the second without Taylor-Firth, who had previously left the band.

Olive became famous in 1997 with the single You're Not Alone and reached number 1 on the British charts.

reception

At the Ivor Novello Award 1997, Kellett and Taylor-Firth received the Best Dance Music Award for You're Not Alone on May 28, 1998 . The song was from the German producer 2002 ATB gecovert . Another cover was released in early 2011 by the Dane Mads Langer . During the Trickle tour of America, the band assumed that 60 to 70 percent of their audience was homosexual. This was also the reason why they made their final appearance at the San Francisco Pride .
