Oliver Oakes
Oliver Oakes (born January 11, 1988 in Norwich ) is a British automobile racing driver .
Career
Oakes began his motorsport career in karting in 1995 , where he was active until 2005. Among others, he won the 2005 Karting World Championship of Formula A. In 2006 he moved into the single-seater racing and entered the British Formula BMW at. With a win he finished sixth overall at the end of the season. He also started in several races in various formula series. In 2007 he competed both in the Northern European Formula Renault , in which he finished fourth overall, and in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , which he finished twelfth. In the 2007 season he was promoted as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team from Red Bull .
In 2008 Oakes did not get a cockpit for a full season and he started in some races of the British Formula 3 Championship , in which he finished 19th overall, in the Formula 3 Euro Series and in the International Formula Masters . In 2009 he started the season in the British Formula 3 Championship for Carlin Motorsport . He left his team after just two race weekends and finished 18th overall at the end of the year in which he had not competed in any other racing series.
In 2010 Oakes competed for ATECH CRS GP in the newly founded GP3 series and finished 28th overall.
