Oliver Ruggenthaler

Oliver Ruggenthaler OFM (born October 11, 1972 in Virgen ) is an Austrian Franciscan and Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Austria .

He grew up in Virgen in East Tyrol , attended the Franziskanergymnasium Hall in Tirol and entered the then Tyrolean Franciscan Province of the Franciscan Order. After his novitiate in Reutte and theology studies in Salzburg, Father Oliver was ordained a priest in 2000 and then worked as a parish trainee in Enns, hospital chaplain in Schwaz and Salzburg and in the administration of his religious province as a provincial archivist and provincial secretary. In May 2011 he was elected Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Austria by St. Leopold , which includes around 140 brothers in Austria, South Tyrol and Switzerland.
