Olivier Dussopt

Olivier Dussopt (born August 16, 1978 in Annonay ) is a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2007 to 2017 . He has been State Secretary to the Minister for the Budget since 2017.

Dussopt studied political science in Grenoble and graduated with a DESS . In 2000 he joined the Parti socialiste . After completing his studies, he was initially parliamentary assistant to Michel Teston , Senator and President of the General Council of the Ardèche department . In 2006 he became an active politician himself and joined the regional council of the Rhône-Alpes region . In the 2007 parliamentary elections , Dussopt succeeded in entering the National Assembly in the second constituency of the Ardèche department at the age of 28. In December of the same year he announced his candidacy for the office of mayor in Annonay. He obtained this in the elections in March 2008. In November of that year he also rose to the management level of the Parti socialiste. In 2011 he became the spokesman for top socialist politician Martine Aubry . From this he was appointed one of the national secretaries of the PS in July 2012. In the same year he was re-elected as a member of parliament.
