John Richard Sheets

John Richard Sheets SJ (born September 21, 1922 in Omaha , Nebraska , USA , † April 16, 2003 ) was auxiliary bishop in Fort Wayne-South Bend .

Life

John Richard Sheets joined the Congregation of the Jesuits in and received on 17 June 1953, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

May 14, 1991 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Murcona and Auxiliary Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend. The Bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, John Michael D'Arcy , ordained him episcopally on May 17 of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Indianapolis , Edward Thomas O'Meara , and the auxiliary bishop emeritus of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Joseph Robert Crowley .

On September 23, 1997, John Paul II accepted John Richard Sheets' resignation due to reasons of age.
