Olivier Masson

Olivier Masson (born April 3, 1922 in Paris , † February 23, 1997 ibid) was a French Graecist and linguist .

Masson was professor and directeur d'études de philologie grecque at the IVe section of the École pratique des hautes études . His main field of work was the Cypriot script . In the field of Mycenaean Greek he contributed to anthroponyms . In 1995 he was elected a corresponding member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences .
