San Marino took part in the 2006 Winter Olympics in the Italian Turin with an athlete part.

As four years earlier at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , San Marino took part in the Winter Olympics with a ski racer. The 18-year-old Marino Cardelli was the worst placed who could qualify for the giant slalom and started last. Like 33 other ski racers, he could not finish the first run of the giant slalom.
