Ombúes de Lavalle is a city in southwest Uruguay .
geography
The city is located at an altitude of 119 meters above sea level in the territory of the Department of Colonia in its sector 11 . It is located about halfway between the city of Nueva Palmira in the west and the city of Florencio Sánchez in the east . Miguelete is located to the southeast . A few kilometers north of Ombúes de Lavalle runs the border with the Department of Soriano . To the south lies the departmental capital Colonia del Sacramento .

The city's name is derived from the Argentine general Juan Lavalle .
