Luciano Folgore

Luciano Folgore (actually Omero Vecchi * 18th June 1888 in Rome ; † 26. May 1966 ) was an Italian painter of Futurism and writer.

Life

Folgore joined the futurist movement through Marinetti in 1909. As their representative he worked in newspapers such as La Voce, Lacerba , Avanscoperta, La Diana, L'Italia Futurista and Sic. His first poems ( Canto dei motori , Ponti sull'oceano , and Città veloce ) appeared during the war . As a supporter of the slogan in libertà , he was the author of the manifesto Lirismo sintetico e sensazione fisica in 1914 .

After the war, he successfully devoted himself to the writing of plays and stories, including La città dei girasoli (1924) and Nuda ma dipinta (1924). In his final years, however, he moved further and further away from his futuristic roots and returned to traditional art forms.
