action

Jaromír Nohavica

A Dutch filmmaker is making a documentary about a sanatorium for alcoholics in the Czech Republic . In this sanatorium he met the Czech songwriter Jaromír Nohavica, without knowing that this man is a legend in the Czech Republic. The poet, musician and friend of Nohavica's Karel Plíhal is not an alcoholic, but he likes the seclusion and security of the sanatorium so much that he decides to stay there. Since this is not possible for a non-drinker, he develops other phobias - up to and including complete silence. Plíhal would like his friend Nohavica to perform with the wedding and funeral folk group Čechomor . Nohavica tries to get in touch with the band members who also have an offer from Jaz Coleman ( Killing Joke ) to perform with the Philharmonic. However, the band opts for the legend Nohavica. The film accompanies the band from performance to performance for a year and thus approaches Nohavica and shows the rise of a completely unknown folk band to national heroes. At the same time he deals with the demons of alcohol and the myths of demystified everyday life.
