route

After the start in Lichtervelde, the course initially led in a 113-kilometer loop around the area. This was followed by eight laps of 10.2 kilometers each in Lichtervelde. This course was also flat.

Race course

After 60 kilometers, two drivers attacked, including John Mandrysch (Germany / Leopard) and pulled away. 15 kilometers later, the peloton split into several parts. Halfway through the race, the first larger group with around 40 drivers closed the gap to the front runners. The large escape group was put back at the beginning of the final round. Then Guillaume Van Keirsbulck (Belgium / Wanty) and Jonas Rickaert (Belgium / Sport Vlaanderen) left.

A short time later there were 14 other drivers with Tom Devriendt (Belgium / Wanty), Maarten Wynants (Belgium / LottoNL) and Brian van Goethem (Netherlands / Roompot). Devriendt, Wynants and van Goethem broke away from the escape group of the day. With ten kilometers to go, the three had a lead of 30 seconds. However, the field could no longer close the gap. So it came to the sprint of the three. Devriendt won this before Wynants and van Goethem. The beaten field followed, eight seconds behind.
