The Omobranchini are a tribe of the slimy fish (Blenniidae). They live in the sea in the Indo-Pacific , rarely in brackish or fresh water.

features

The different types of Omobranchini are 2.9 to 9.5 cm long. They have a typical, elongated slimy fish shape. The head is in most cases without tentacles. The canines can be relatively large. In Omobranchus , the gill opening is limited to a hole above the base of the pectoral fin. The caudal fin of the Omobranchini is only supported by unbranched fin rays. In the dorsal fin there are 17 to 27 articulated fin rays, the throaty ventral fins, which attach in front of the pectoral fins , have two articulated fin rays.
