The Omurtag Pass ( Bulgarian Омуртагов проход Omurtagow prochod ) is a 720 m high mountain pass in Bowles Ridge on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is part of the overland route between the area around the Wörner Gap and the upper section of the Kaliakra Glacier
Bulgarian scientists mapped it while surveying the Tangra Mountains between 2004 and 2005. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2005 after Omurtag , Bulgarian Khan from 814 to 831.
