Ona Valiukevičiūtė

Ona Valiukevičiūtė (born August 1, 1945 in Šukėtai , Rajongemeinde Šakiai ) is a Lithuanian politician and singer.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1963 at Griškabūdis near Šakiai , she worked as a teacher in Kudirkos Naumiestis and Kiduliai . In 1971 she completed her diploma studies ( German language and literature) at the Faculty of Philology of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1968 she worked in the orchestra of Lietuvos nacionalinis radijas ir televizija (LRT), from 1971 to 1972 with the ensemble “Nemuno žiburiai” ( Valstybinė filharmonija of Soviet Lithuania ), from 1972 as a soloist with the “ Trimitas ” wind orchestra . 2000–2001 she was an assistant to Rolandas Paksas in the Seimas . In 2002 she headed the foundation “Visuomenės pažangos fondas” vadovė. From 2003 to 2004 she was an advisor to President Paksas of Lithuania . From 2002 to 2003 she was a member of the Vilnius City Council . Since 2004 she has been a member of Seimas (instead of Kęstutis Pūkas ) since January 24, 2018 .

From 2002 she was a member of the Liberalų Demokratieų partija , since 2006 of the Tvarka ir teisingumas .

She is married to the musician Giedrius Balutis and has the daughter Giedrė.
