Once in a Lifetime (Talking Heads song)
Once in a Lifetime is a song by the band Talking Heads that was first released in 1980 on the group's fourth studio album, Remain in Light , and was later released as a single. The piece was written by David Byrne , Brian Eno , Chris Frantz , Jerry Harrison and Tina Weymouth and produced by Eno. It received positive reviews and rated it as one of the 100 Most Important Works in American Music of the 20th Century by National Public Radio . At the time of publication, the song had only moderate chart success. He reached the highest position with position 14 in the UK singles charts. There were other chart placements in New Zealand (15), Belgium (23), the Netherlands (24 or 28) and in the USA (91).
Music video
The music video shows David Byrne wearing glasses and dancing like a puppet . Byrne is shown suddenly throwing his arm, hitting his head, and tapping the floor on his hands and knees, similar to the movements made with puppets. In the background, copies of Byrne dance in perfect synchronization with the music, in the foreground an ever-growing Byrne gets further and further out of synchronicity. The video will be shown in the New York Museum of Modern Art .

The Talking Heads song was featured in the movies Rock Star , Zoff in Beverly Hills and Hot Tub - The Whirlpool ... is a fucking time machine and was featured in the television series Numbers (episode 1 × 01), Chuck (episode 2 × 13), Parenthood (episode 1 × 02), Being Erica (episode 3 × 05) and The Simpsons (episode 25 × 18) are used.
The band PlayDis! covered the song in 2013. This version can also be heard in the opening credits of the Franco-German television series About: Kate .
