Oom Island ( Norwegian Uksøy ) is a small island off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In Oom Bay it is 800 m northeast of Campbell Head .

Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them after Karl Erik Oom (1904-1972), cartographer of the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson .
