Oosterend is a village on the island of Texel in the Netherlands . It is located on the east coast of the island, about two kilometers from the dike. Traditionally, the main source of income for the village is fishing. Oosterend used to have its own port, but it silted up in the 19th century. Today the Oosterender fishermen have their ships moored in the port of Oudeschild .
The church in the former center of the village is the oldest church on Texel. Parts of the church are believed to date from the 12th century. In earlier times it was dedicated to St. Martin .
