The Tarenter Ragwurz ( Ophrys tarentina Gölz & HRReinhard ) is a species of the genus Ragwurzen ( Ophrys ) and thus the family of orchids. It blooms from March to April.
features
This herbaceous perennial plant reaches heights of between 10 and 30 cm. The inflorescence includes three to eight flowers . The sepals are always green and the corrugated petals are yellow-green, sometimes reddish in color. The lip appears black to reddish brown. It is covered all around with long shaggy hair, only the yellowish colored edge is bare.
Location and occurrence
One finds this orchid on lean lawn , garrigues and rarely, in light forests with moderately dry, skeleton-and base-rich soils from an altitude of 10 meters up to an altitude of 550 meters. This plant type is mainly in the south of Italy before, in Puglia, Basilicata and in northern Calabria.
