Opuntia acaulis is a species of plant in the genus Opuntia ( Opuntia ) from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet acaulis means 'stemless'.

Opuntia acaulis grows shrubby, is somewhat extended and reaches heights of growth of up to 2 meters. A tribe is not trained. The dirty yellowish green, egg-shaped to elongated shoot sections are up to 20 centimeters long and 13 centimeters wide. The glochids on it are brownish. The five to six (rarely three to seven) thorns are greyish yellow, needle-like and somewhat flattened. One or two thorns are up to 4 centimeters long, the rest can reach a length of up to 2 centimeters.
The yellow flowers reach a diameter of 1.5 centimeters and a length of up to 7 centimeters.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Opuntia acaulis is common in northwest Haiti .
The first description was published in 1931 by Erik Leonard Ekman and Erich Werdermann . A synonym is Consolea acaulis (Ekman & Werderm.) FMKnuth (1936).
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is called " Data Deficient (DD) ", i. H. with insufficient data.
