Oratorio della Purità

The Oratorio della Purità ( Oratory of Purity) in Udine is to the right of the cathedral . It was built in 1757 at the order of Cardinal Daniele Dolfin for the religious instruction of young girls in place of a small theater.

The baroque facade of the two-story building has a flat triangular gable. It is structured by wall templates. On the lower floor there is a church with a flat ceiling. Here you can see frescoes by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and his son Giandomenico Tiepolo . The ceiling frescoes are an old work by GB Tiepolo. They depict Mary's acceptance into heaven and angels praising praise on the two smaller fields. Eight murals with a gold background in grisaille technique with biblical scenes are works by the son. The altar painting by G. B Tiepolo shows a Maria Immaculata .
