Order of Resistance (Luxembourg)
The Order of Resistance was founded by decree on March 30, 1946 by Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg and is intended to be awarded to people who had distinguished themselves through particular bravery and sacrifice during the German occupation from 1940 to 1944. The award can be given posthumously as well as to foreigners. By amendment of the statutes of December 24, 2003, the cross of the order is only awarded posthumously.
The award takes place on the proposal of the Minister of the Interior and after hearing the Council of the Order of Resistance.

Order decoration
The low range is a made of bronze -made Leopold cross with small spheres on the tips, the mirror of a cipher C (Charlotte) and an overlying crown is worn. A chain runs between the arms of the cross. A medallion with the crowned lion head from the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy rests on the cross. All around the medallion the inscription 1940 1944 JE MAINTIENDRAI (I will receive).
On the back the letter R (resistance) can be seen, which is surrounded by a thick laurel wreath .
The second level is a round medal made of bronze and shows the lion surrounded by a chain. The chain is broken at the level of the head. On the reverse the crowned mirror initial C (Charlotte) with the inscription 1940 1944 JE · MAINTIENDRAI (I will receive).
Carrying method
The individual steps are carried on a white ribbon with blue stripes on the left side of the chest.
