Order of the White Double Cross
The Order of the White Double Cross ( Slovak Rad Bieleho dvojkríža ) was founded in 1994 and is one of the highest awards in Slovakia . The President of the Slovak Republic awards the medal exclusively to foreigners who have made a special contribution to Slovakia.
Order classes
The order is divided into two departments for civil and military merit, each with three classes, with the highest ranking being 1st class:
Order decoration
The breast star is eight-pointed and golden. In the center of the star is a disc with a white double cross in front of a red enamelled background, which is surrounded by a wreath of golden oak and laurel leaves.
The badge is designed the same as the Grand Cross, but as a smaller version. In addition, the top three points are missing and the badge hangs on a stylized linden leaf , with or without crossed swords.
The ribbon is blue with a central red stripe.
