Orien Ernest

Orien Alfred Ernest (born October 28, 1911 in Illinois , † September 29, 1995 in Kern County , United States ) was an American inventor and Oscar winner.

Live and act

Not much is known about Ernest's career. He spent his childhood and youth in Ford County , Illinois, before moving to California in the 1930s. Obviously, he received a technical training that was currently unspecified and made a name for himself as a designer and builder of telescopes , before joining the film. There he was employed in the film technology department of Universal Studios and, together with Fred Knoth, was awarded the Academy Award for Technical Achievement ( Technical Achievement Award ) at the 1955 Academy Awards , namely “for the development of a portable electric dry oil fog machine ” ('For the development of a hand portable, electric, dry oil-fog machine '). After that, he was only practically involved in a film production once, when Ernest was involved in the creation of the special effects for the early monster adventure film The Flight to Hell at the side of Knoth and Jack Kevan in 1956/57 .
