Origen is an esports organization that was founded in 2014 by Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez after he left Fnatic . Martínez put together a League of Legends team from specially selected players.

League of Legends

The team founded in 2014 by Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez consisted of Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, Maurice “Amazing” piece cutter, Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez, Jesper “Zven” (then still known as “Niels”) Svenningsen and Alfonso Aguirre “ Mithy “Rodriguez. After Origen successfully qualified for the Challenger Series in spring, you could also win this and were thus qualified for the League of Legends Championship Series in summer 2015. In this series, the team finished second behind Fnatic . Since Origen had too few championship points to go straight to the World Cup , the team had to play a regional qualification tournament. This could be won with two victories against Team Roccat and the Unicorns of Love and thus the team was qualified for the World Cup. There the lineup reached the semi-finals before clearly losing 3-0 against SK Telecom T1 . For the Spring Split of the League of Legends Championship Series, Origen strengthened the squad with mid-laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage. Although he took the first position in mid-lane, the team kept the option to replace Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage with Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez. You could finish the spring split second. Origen was able to prevail in the playoffs because of the possibility of changing the two mid-laners, but was then defeated 3-1 in the final by G2 Esports . For the Summer Split of the League of Legends Championship Series 2016, Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen and Alfonso Aguirre "Mithy" Rodriguez left the team for G2 Esports. The reasons were poor team morale and one's own failure to deal with defeats. The two players will be replaced by Konstantinos "FORG1VEN" Tzortziou from H2k-Gaming and Glenn "Hybrid" Doornenbal from G2 Esports for the 2016 Summer Split . The successful Spring Split 2016 was followed by a disappointing Summer Split 2016, which only ended in 9th place. Due to the early exchange in week 2 of the ADC from Konstantinos "FORG1VEN" Tzortziou to Enrique "xPeke" Cedeño Martínez, the team mostly played weakly in this position. By occupying 9th place, Origen had to take part in the relegation. There the League of Legends Championship Series course was successfully defended against Misfits Gaming 3-2. Glenn "Hybrid" Doornenbal announced 3 weeks later that he would no longer play for Origen for the 2017 Spring Split.

Origen was relegated from the LCS after the end of the 2017 Spring Split. In cooperation with Astralis, Origen was able to successfully apply for a place in the LEC (formerly LCS) Spring Split 2019 and finished it in 2nd place, where the G2 Esports team lost.
