Team Roccat (spelling: Team ROCCAT ) is an esports organization based in Hamburg . It was founded in 2007. The League of Legends team from Roccat is a participant in the League of Legends Championship Series .

League of Legends

After the computer accessories manufacturer Roccat GmbH from Hamburg initially supported other teams financially, at the end of 2013 it was officially announced that it was interested in a team that would play under the name of Roccat.

Start team

In January 2014 Roccat GmbH acquired the Polish team Kiedyś Miałem Team, qualified for the League of Legends Championship Series , and renamed it Team ROCCAT . The team consisted of Marcin "Xaxus" Mączka as top laner, Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski as jungler, Remigiusz "Overpow" Pusch as mid-laner, Paweł "Celaver" Koprianiuk as ADC and Oskar "VandeR" Bogdan as support.

Achieved

Roccat closed the

  • Spring Split 2014 the LCS in third place and the
  • Summer Split 2014 came fourth after a defeat in the game for third place against SK Gaming .
  • The Intel Extreme Masters 2014 in Cologne could team ROCCAT end with the semi-finals.

Current status

  • The team just missed qualifying for the World Cup with 2: 3 against Origen .

For the Spring Split 2016, the lineup was completely replaced. The new players had to be content with ninth place in the table, which forced them to participate in the relegation. This could be won with 3: 1 against Team Huma . On February 24, 2016 Roccat signed the German coach Fabian "Grabbz" Lohmann. In November 2018 it was announced that Team Roccat would no longer compete in the League of Legends Championship Series .

Counter-Strike

The inclusion of a Counter Strike teams was the first time commitment hardware vendor in e-sports . The Finnish players in this division took third place at an Intel Extreme Masters event in 2007 and second place at DreamHack Summer 2008 and NGL-One Season IV in 2008 . The last team in the shooter series to play for Roccat was fired at the beginning of 2016.

StarCraft II

After sponsoring the StarCraft II player Dmytro "DIMAGA" Filipchuk in 2013 and the inclusion of the player Ko "Hyun" Seok-hyun in 2014, the StarCraft II department became after the departure of Dmytro "DIMAGA" Filipchuk in 2014 and the departure of Ko "Hyun “Seok-hyun closed on February 1, 2016.
