The original Härtsfeld musicians

The Original Härtsfeld Musikanten are a band from Dorfmerkingen , a suburb of Neresheim in today's Ostalbkreis , founded in 1751, and thus one of the oldest bands in Baden-Württemberg .

history

In the consecration of the parish church of St. Mauritus and St. Georg in 1751, nine Dorfmerkinger traveling musicians are said to have played winds . Recent research even suggests that this type of music-making has existed in the village since the end of the Thirty Years War in 1648. The existence of folk music in Dorfmerkingen up to the year 1738 can be proven without gaps.

The orchestra maintains, among other things, the Bohemian style of music and in 2016 consisted of 54 musicians aged 16 to 64 years. The symphonic brass music is part of the other repertoire. In 2015, the Härtsfeld musicians reached 3rd place in the sheet metal duel of Südwestrundfunk in the final, which was broadcast live on SWR television. In the same year they framed the film premiere of the sequel to the Swabian dialect comedy The Church stays in the village in Hamburg. At the 18th European Championship of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music 2017 in Bamberg, the Härtsfeld musicians took part with two groups and achieved 4th place in both the middle and upper grades. In 2018 the band went on a concert tour to Canada , where they performed at the Toronto Oktoberfest and took part in the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Parade .
