Orlando Mohorović

Orlando Mohorović (* 1950 in Labin ) is a Croatian artist.

biography

Mohorović came to Düsseldorf in 1969 and met Joseph Beuys . The admission committee of the “Free Art” department at the Düsseldorf Art Academy approved him as a student in Beuys' class. Orlando Mohorović studied painting and sculpture from 1970 to 1974. During this time, paintings of New Realism , conceptual art , sketches, small drawings and watercolors were created as templates for installations and performances .

In 1970 he had his first exhibition in the Beuys class in room 20 and in the hall of the Düsseldorf Art Academy.

On February 5, 1974 he was appointed master student in the Beuys class. Like many other prominent German artists ( Jörg Immendorff , Katharina Sieverding , Anselm Kiefer , Blinky Palermo , Sigmar Polke ), Mohorović belongs to the group of Beuys students.
