Orofino (born 1978 in Moenchengladbach is) a grown in Germany thoroughbred - racehorse and winner of the 112th German Derby in Hamburg in 1981. He was the überlegenster Derby winner ever, with 12¾ lengths ahead (as of 2014).

Orofino was bred at the Zoppenbroich stud in Mönchengladbach- Rheydt by the Bresges family. His permanent jockey was Peter Alafi .

Orofino, son of Genghis Khan and Ordinale, won the Berlin Grand Prix alongside the Hamburg Derby . His half-brother Ordos won the German Derby in 1983. Sven von Mitzlaff was always the trainer . Another son of Ordinale, Orfano, was a Derby favorite in 1986 but finished fourth in the end.

Orofino was the first racehorse to be voted canter of the year three times .
