history

On May 4, 1755, the congregation applied to the consistory for permission to build a wooden chapel. This approval should have been granted immediately because on July 26, 1756, the local residents again applied to the consistory to purchase a bell.

At the end of the 18th century / beginning of the 19th century, the wooden chapel was replaced by today's brick chapel.

In 1867 the tower roof burned down as a result of a lightning strike and was re-covered with sheet metal in October 1867. The gilder Simon Daum won in 1872 by the municipality of the contract for the restoration of the chapel. The tower roof was repainted in 1895 and the windows and ceiling were renewed in 1897. An extensive restoration by Christian Priesner from Krems was completed with the consecration on July 8, 1906.

Further renovations concerned the gutters in 1948, the repainting of the tower roof in 1950 and the repair of the tower clock in 1952. In 1966 extensive work was carried out, in the course of which the roof structure was repaired and the roof was re-covered. The facing on the tower and the facades were renewed and the interior received a new plaster.

The last extensive restoration and renovation work took place in 2014. The rising damp made it necessary to knock off the plaster on the inside and outside and to replace it completely after the wall had dried out.
