The Weisslingen local museum ( Zurich German Wislig ) is a Zurich memory institution with a public mandate to collect cultural heritage . It is dedicated to the history of Weisslingen in the canton of Zurich and has been located in the center of the village since 1996 in the old fire station (Zurich German Sprützehüüsli ) in a historic building from 1929. The Weisslingen local museum runs the museum and a chronicle room. The Chronikstube collects and archives items, objects and documents, as well as books, DVDs and videos from the history of Weisslingen and its Aussenwachten, Lendikon, Dettenried , Theilingen , Neschwil , Segel and Schwendi.

Collection and exhibition

The museum's collection includes the following topics: handicrafts , Romans and Celts , fire brigade, Beymühle (leg mill), Weisslingen mill, Weisslingen castle, Weisslingen church, school, toys (FREBA AG Weisslingen), rectory, DIY and C.Moos AG Weisslingen. The Weisslingen local museum is connected to the Wila local museum . Traveling exhibitions have been organized and carried out together since 2014. The Weisslingen local museum also organized local festivals on the subject of haymaking (2001) and wood (2015) under the name Historischer Verein Weisslingen .

Special exhibitions

Special exhibitions are exhibitions that are not an integral part of the Weisslingen local museum. The Weisslingen local museum organized special exhibitions on various topics such as carnival, outdoor watches, toys, C.Moos AG, waterworks in Weisslingen and historical postcards.
