Óscar Osvaldo García Montoya

Oscar Osvaldo Garcia Montoya , alias Carlos , Ricardo and El Compayito ( Spanish for Kumpelchen ; * 1974 or 1975 in Guasave , Sinaloa ) is a suspected Mexican assassin and leader of a criminal organization . The Mexican authorities accuse him of more than 600 murders he commissioned or himself carried out, which prosecutors say he confessed to.

Life

Óscar Montoya was originally a soldier in the Mexican Navy , but where he deserted and then worked as a police officer in Baja California and Sinaloa . He fought with the Kaibiles , an elite unit of the Guatemalan army known for numerous human rights violations . Since November 2010 the authorities have suspected him of numerous murders in Mexico.

He is said to have worked as a bodyguard for Edgar Valdez Villareal for the Beltrán-Leyva cartel . After his arrest on August 30, 2010, he is said to have founded the organization Mano con Ojos (Hand with Eyes). She is involved in the drug war in Mexico . She is charged with more than 900 murders. The members of the group were trained in Guatemala .

Montoya was arrested in Tlalpan , Mexico City on the night of August 11, 2011 . A bounty of around 300,000 euros was exposed on him. During the arrest, the police mistakenly broke into the house of the famous poet Efraín Bartolomé and two neighbors.

Óscar Montoya's confession was recorded by police and broadcast on television.
