Oscar Reutersvärd
Oscar Reutersvärd (born 1915 in Stockholm ; † February 2, 2002 ) was a Swedish artist.
Oscar Reutersvärd introduced the art of impossible objects , he was also called the “father of impossibility”. He is a forerunner of Roger Penrose and Maurits Cornelis Escher . Reutersvärd is said to be particularly responsible for the design of the Penrose triangle , which is now incorrectly attributed to his spiritual successor, Penrose . He has published numerous books in Swedish, English, Polish and Russian.
