In a dystopian future, the dictator Thadäus Schmäh rules the world. He hates music and that's why he bans all musical instruments so that they have to live underground. This also includes the speaking concert grand piano Oskar. The young adventurer Rebecca helps him on his way and they join the resistance.
Production and publication
The series was produced between 1995 and 2000 under the direction of Christopher O'Hare in a Franco-British cooperation. Season 3 has not yet been translated into German. The series first aired on January 4, 1994 on BBC One . The German first broadcast took place on December 30, 1995 on Das Erste . Further German-language TV broadcasts took place on KiKA , WDR television and ORF eins . The series was also released on Video Home System (VHS).
